Research Links Living Near Busy Road to Heart Disease in Women

A new study correlates the distance of a woman’s home from a busy road with heart disease. Interestingly, the article discussing the research only talkheartattacks about pollution from the traffic as a risk factor. The first thing that I thought of was stress – noise can be insidious.

I spend a lot of time thinking about the threats that people feel just below their consciousness. The sense of threat can result in pain, or make pain worse. So it makes sense to me that the constant threat of the noise of a busy road very near one’s home would be corrosive.

Best guess: further research will demonstrate that there are a number of factors at play, including stress. So keep taking care to find ways to break the cycles of stress in your life.
