Anita NooneThanks for taking the time to learn a little about me. I love being a Movement Educator and I’m enthusiastic about teaching the Feldenkrais Method to all sorts of people. I have worked with active adults, seniors and teens, in an assisted living setting, and with people with disabilities. My experience includes working with professional athletes, equestrians, musicians, back pain sufferers, and people seeking stress relief. I consulted extensively with the Scripps Chronic Pain Rehabilitation program, which employs an integrative approach, including the Feldenkrais Method®, to address chronic pain. Medical doctors who specialize in rheumatology, neurology, and pain management regularly refer their patients to me.

I have also volunteered to teach group Feldenkrais classes at the San Diego Cancer Center, in Encinitas, CA, through San Diego Hospice, and at the Valley Center Library. In 2014, I completed the extensive background and medical checks necessary to volunteer with patients at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and I volunteered there for a year.

I completed the four year Feldenkrais® Training program and am a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Teacher. I recently repeated the training as an assistant and found the experience challenging and enriching. I have served on the Feldenkrais Journal Editorial Board and as the Editor in Chief. The Feldenkrais Journal publishes thoughtful and thought-provoking articles about the Feldenkrais Method®, as well as the relation of our work with other disciplines. I have also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America.

I was born in Cheverly, Maryland, outside of Washington, DC, and I went to college at the University of Chicago. During college, I spent the hot and humid DC summers as an intern for the National Weather Service. During my time with the Weather Service, I researched what was the best climate in the United States and I moved to San Diego in 1979. I attended law school at the University of San Diego. I completed a three year psychology and healing program at the University of Santa Monica in January 2022.

I have lived all over north San Diego County and I currently reside in Valley Center, California. I have taught both Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement classes® and Functional Integration® lessons in Solana Beach, Encinitas, Rancho Santa Fe, Escondido, Vista, and Valley Center.

I always enjoy meeting new clients and hearing about the work and hobbies that make them happy. My hobbies include hiking, gardening, running, backpacking, fostering dogs, and biking, and I’ve worked as a lawyer, mother, weather forecaster, executive, and free-lance writer; I can find some common ground with anyone! I believe that everyone has the ability and the right to improve his or her health – and life.
