Exploring Movements of Your Head and Neck While Sitting

Where does movement originate? This is a question we play with in Feldenkrais lessons, when we think about moving. In many situations, where we start seems to make a difference. In the same way, we could ask: where does a thought or emotion originate? Do you think in your head? Your heart? Your gut?

This lesson is an opportunity to swim in the pool of all of these ideas – and to do it simply. Come experiment with movements of your head, where your only standards are ease and comfort.

You may want to have a cushion handy, to make yourself more comfortable while sitting on the floor. Or find a chair, preferably with a flat, firm seat, to use instead of the floor. Your comfort is your first priority.
