On the Side, Lifting the Heels

This lesson is a fascinating exploration of the organization of the hips and spine. The positions for most of the lesson are variations on lying on your side, with your knees in a straight line under your hip joints – kind of like you are kneeling, but on your side. It is difficult for many people to sense where their knees are and to keep that straight line from their chest to their knees. If you’ve already done this lesson in a class with a teacher, you’ll be more aware of how to get into the position and stay there.

There’s a mysterious clicking noise at the beginning of the recording; ignore it – it goes away.
