Sit Bones Back – On All Fours

This is an especially useful series of movements if you have sciatic-type symptoms, such as pain or tingling down one leg, or any other type of back or hip pain. The movements are simple and a variety of resting positions are suggested. It is safe to do this movement series while you are having discomfort, so long as you move small and slowly, and don’t do anything that increases discomfort. Visualize the movements if you don’t think you can do them without increasing discomfort.

Though it’s not necessary, it’s helpful to have a sturdy, low table, chair, or other piece of furniture that is about as high as the length of your upper leg/thigh; you’ll use the furniture to support your rest. The movements are done on hands and knees, so if you need some padding for under your knees, have that handy, too.
