It’s absolutely clear that some people are just more sensitive. A lot of them find their way to Feldenkrais class – a safe place to acknowledge and use sensitivity, to learn how to improve movement, and life.
Living in modern, technology-focused society is difficult for sensitive people in a million ways. Recently a new Feldenkrais student cursed her sensitivity, telling me anecdotes about her unhappy interactions with medical personnel, and others. She demonstrated how she resisted her sensitivity, trying to make life easier by ignoring her sensation.
We need to nurture, celebrate, and learn from the very sensitive. They have gifts to offer.
